ActionsHow often do I need to change my air filter?
There are many factors that can determine when an air filter should be changed. How often the HVAC unit runs, air quality, humidity and other factors can vary greatly from application to application. For most 1, 2 and 4 deep panel or pleated style filters, it is usually recommended to change the filter every 2-3 months. In many commercial and industrial applications static pressure can be monitored and the filters can be changed when they reach their recommended final resistance in inches of water gauge.
What is MERV?
MERV stands for: Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. MERV is part of the ASHRAE 52.2 Test Standard that determines the ability of an air filter to remove particles of a specific size from an air stream. Air filters can have a MERV of 1 to 16; the higher the MERV, the more efficient the filter is at capturing particles
Clarcor Air Filteration Pleated Air Filter, 12 x 20 x 1"
Clarcor Air Filteration Pleated Air Filter, 12 x 20 x 1" Clarcor Pleated Air Filters Improve your indoor air quality with the MERV 8 rating. MERV 8 filters capture 90% of airborne particles, including dust, debris, lint, pollen, and pet dander. The MERV 8 filter is ideal for standard residential and commercial use. Filters should be replaced every 90 days, more often if you have pets, children, or allergy-sufferers at home. We recommend regularly replacing your filter to ensure your air stays clean and furnace or Air Condtioning Unit works properly.,

The Hi-E 40 is a medium efficiency pleated filter, available in 2" depth and several standard face sizes to accommodate most system requirements. The 100% hydrophobic synthetic media provides 35-40% average efficiency and nearly 95% average arrestance. The Hi-E 40 is effective as a stand-alone filter or prefilter.
- Filters are made with 100% synthetic fibers providing mechanical efficiency to achieve a MERV 10 performance
- Media has polyvinyl acetate (PVA) adhesive that is not affected by mold or microbial growth
- Heavy duty beverage board frame - moisture resistant, sturdy frame material stands up to rough handling and difficult service conditions, providing long service life
- 2-piece frame construction - double wall thickness around the outer edge and integral die cut cross members provide strength and rigidity
- Water repellent adhesive used to bond the frame and media pack into a unitized assembly is highly water repellent
- Galvanized steel pleat support
- Stronger adhesive with more bonding points
- Lower initial resistance for energy saving
- Medium efficiency pleated filter
- Made in USA
